Our Story
Green Hands World located in New York, New York is led by Dolores Murat. Our nonprofit organization was founded after the 2010 Haiti earthquake. A native of the Caribbean island nation, Dolores views said disaster as a wake-up call to the different environmental and socioeconomic issues that the country continues to face.
We promote awareness among people through various educational programs and activities about the struggles of the Haitian people in dealing with crises such as hunger, poverty, and climate change.
These programs involve multiple sectors of the community.

Dolores Murat Etienne
CEO
Dolores Murat-Etienne has 20+ years of executive and senior managerial experiences in the non-profit and education sector. She has held a lifelong passion for health advocacy and arts education, which led to the founding of "Dolores En Couleur" (D.E.C) Inc, an arts organization focused on creating arts opportunities for children in Brooklyn, NY and around the world.
She’s planned and directed many programs since starting Dolores En Couleur (D.E.C), a NON-PROFIT theater company started right out of college; that initiative produced an annual art & health fair. The program provided health care resources for over 2,500 people yearly; and created various arts & crafts programming for children and young adults at home and aboard.
While continuing her advocacy and non-profit work, she's also a childcare provider, running her own Daycare Program right here in Brooklyn. 911 Daycare Inc. She has had this daycare for over 16 years and still does to this day. She runs her daycare business and builds great relationships with every child and parent. Her focus has been to teach the kids under her wings to be advocates like herself.
She does not stop here - after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti where about a half a million people died and the whole country got served with yet another blow by nature. She founded Green Hands World Inc. She realized helping people to help themselves doesn't start with just a handout - it starts with a hook and a fishing rod. We cannot stay complacent as our planet is surely deteriorating and yet have a "it has nothing to do with me" mentality - she believes that the environment is everyone's business. The fact that Haiti is the most forgotten & neglected territory, Dolores Murat-Etienne realized that the issue of deforestation across the world not only affects economic development but also causes great environmental concerns. She founded Green Hands World. Inc. with the purpose to improve the living conditions of communities by the restoration of plants and reforestation of the land as well as addressing the issue of sanitation and the lack of recycling programs. Through our efforts, she, along with other advocates, promote a culture of land preservation, cultivation, and protection of the natural resources with the hopes of improving the quality of life in various regions of the world. Dolores made it a goal to bring the environment situations front & center. Dolores Murat-Etienne - the woman with many hats- always said "if Elon Musk and Donald Trump can do it why can't I?".
She continued to build on her empire by starting yet another brick-and-mortar on Nostrand Avenue right in the heart of Little Haiti-BK known as DoDor Services Inc. Through DoDor Services she aims to be a bridge between her community and their success. Some would ask what does DoDor do? DoDor is an employment agency first and foremost and provides every service that the community needs from filing an immigration form and to helping that same immigrant land their dream job. But no, that's not all! Dolores Murat-Etienne just purchased her own home care agency to continue to help her community. She had jumped from children to seniors. She made it her life goal to touch every aspect of her community's life whether children, the youth, or immigrants who come from distressed parts of the world.
